So i'll get right to the point, as you can probably gather a) I'm not a serious gamer and b) I AM A MAC USER (why i'm a music producer my choice of DAW is Logic it only runs on MAC).
So now that we have gotten that out of the way I COMPLETELY understand that the older MAC's couldn't handle the graphics on Battlefield 4 or something to that effect. However, the new 2014-2015 Retina Display macs have come out and they are to my knowledge more than capable of running the game on the Mac OS system. What i'm running:
2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB RAM
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
My final request for all the PC users and experts, what do I have to do to run BF4 on a Mac, and please save me the troll comments I get it PC rules, Mac sucks blah blah blah. Is there something you have to change?

Perhaps you should build a PC for gaming and continue using your Mac for everything else.

good luck, the OS issue is a separate matter alltogether

That hardware is weaksauce but it will run BF4 if you can get OS going. Pentium4 3ghz and gtx460 ran it low everything 30+fps sub 1080p.

By the way 'DAW is Logic' like you say, does run on PC with no problems. I have friends and family that are producers using either system, but yeah most prefer MAC's since every studio is running on it. Now since you can afford a MAC, you can build yourself a gamin' rig way cheaper with better spec's, more or less about 800.

Must agree with this.
That CPU GHz and GFX are not good for BF4.
I have a MAC too but that I leave for Ableton/Logic myself

if you really wanna use your Mac for gaming, you need to install a dual boot with for instance Windows 8.1 on another part of your hard disk. You'll boot on Mac OS for your work, and you'll boot on Windows for gaming, it does work, it's been tested before. Concerning your graphics card though, I'm not so sure.. I've never seen a good Intel graphics solution that was viable for gaming..

Your CPU might have been able to handle BF4 on low settings but the GPU is not a discrete GPU but is integrated with the CPU. BF4 isn't happening for you OP, at least not on that machine.
Source: I used to have a Late 2013 rMBP with the discrete GT 750m.
EDIT: FYI - In order to run Windows on a Mac, you have two options.
1) Virtualization - Resource hog. I wouldn't recommend this for playing games, even if your computer was up to the recommended specs.
2) Bootcamp - This is the best way to go. It lets Windows run natively on the Mac as if it were a Windows PC.

This is the only option. Add a good vid card and dual boot.

Why would you want to buy some Mac computer they are way more expensive
Actually I feel sorry for people that have to buy a Mac, you pay premium for stuff that you can buy yourself and save a whole lot of money
Apple should offer the Mac operating system and let people build their own computers for it, maybe more people would actually buy the toaster

No idea about MAC's but if you can use something to emulate DirectX then it 'might' work, chances are it won't though. Apple make good laptops, they are apparently good for editing music and video, but as far as games go, they are dead in the water.
To me the versatility of a Mac is on par with Linux, fun to use but not something you can rely on for gaming.

You can always build a Hackintosh dual booting with OSX and Windows 8.1.
I have on my i74770k, Gigabyte Mobo, 16GB Corsair RAM and GTX 770.

Thanks for everyones comments I appreciate your input, and I could build a gaming rig I'm just an occasional gamer (to be honest all I play is battlefield) however with iMac and MacBook in my studio, its what is available. I have a 360 and thats my main platform but if I don't have to spend $400+ dollars on an Xbox One and just allocate some money towards getting it to run on my Mac's then I'd prefer to do that.
