I want to have an offsite backup in a safe-deposit box and expect to be able to do a FULL Backup monthly of my 4TBs of data. I don't want to deal with an incremental or differential backup at all. Much cleaner and safer.
I have been told that I need to create a BRAND NEW Backup task every month to accomplish this and then delete the old one.
From my perspective this is not an efficient use of my time since I will have to save off and recopy a complicated exclusion list etc.

In TrueImage 2019, I simply erased the files on the disk and executed my backup and always got a Full Image.
A do have a daily backup to the Acronis Cloud of my key files. I can live with the Incremental Scheme for this backup.

Joel, unfortunately KB 63516: Acronis True Image 2020: Incremental backups do not create separate files when using new backup format - deals only with the Windows version of ATI, not the Mac version.
KB 63224: Acronis True Image 2020: comparison of feature set in Windows and macOS - gives a clear picture of the differences between the two editions of ATI.
The only suggestion that I can offer (as a Windows only user with no Mac experience) is to test to see if the Mac version works the same way as it does in Windows for the following scenario.

1. Create a new backup to create a new full backup file.
2. Turn off Acronis Active Protection is enabled.
3. Copy the new full backup file to a second backup drive

4. Turn on AAP if used.
Repeat the above each time a new full backup is created, or else after doing step 3. delete the current full backup file to force a new full backup file to be created the next time the task is run and then repeat steps 2 & 3 each time.
On Windows, deleting the full backup (or moving it) just causes ATI to create a new full backup next time without any dependency between the backup files.
